Not very surprising as a matter of fact. Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammed Asif were long believed/caught using performance enhancing drugs. And everytime they get caught, the PCB initially hands out justice by banning them for a number of matches. But, again, everytime PCB reduces the sentence to make sure that these players play for their country again. As far as I know, these two guys have not played any major tournaments in the last 3 to 4 years. And why havent they played? Simply because of the random dope testing at these tounaments. Everytime before a tournament, these two players either are injured or banned for unrelated charges so that they miss the bigger tournament, escape the dope tests and play the other smaller tournaments for their country.
The biggest joke in this episode is that Asif says he was "Shocked and Surprised". What a farcial response. He tested positive during the recently concluded IPL tounament. And immediately (when u say Immediately, i mean just a day after the tournament was over), he was detained in Dubai for possesion of Cocaine. And now he says he's shocked and surprised. Is it just me or is everyone "shocked and surprised" to hear hear those three words from Asif?
Im only surprised at the fact that Shoaib too wasn't found guilty of taking drugs during the IPL!
