So far so good. That's how everyone describes these Olympics. Sure, there have been some technical glitches like the Internet censor, the "faking" of the fireworks and the lip sync by a 7yr old girl(although its not her fault), but nothing major (??) that can be called a controversy.
Me, being the one of the critics around, have found a new reason to complain. Ever seen the medals tables on different websites and wondered how different they are presented in different parts of the world? For example, If you look at the official Olympics website, it has two columns that gives the rank of each National Olympics Committee. One is simply the rank and the other rank by the total number of medals won. If you see the NBC's Olympics website, it gives you only one table with the the USA leading the table on the virtue of the total number of medals won. In other websites, China leads the tables on its account of having won the highest number of gold medals. Why the anomaly? IMO, China should be the leader in the medals tally. I mean, they have won the highest number of competitions and hence they deserve to be on the leaderboard. Just because USA have come up one short in many events, doesn't mean they are number one. To quote Vin Diesel from the movie Fast and the Furious,"It doesn't matter if you win by a mile or an inch. Winning is winning." Yes, the Chinese have won more medals and deserve to be number one. Change the medal boards, you losers!!
