Hypocrites

Looks like Laura Bush, the first lady of USA is totally critisizing Myanmar for their handling of cyclone nargis in which thousands of people lost their lives and also for the human rights abuses in the country. I'm also saddend by the way the junta handled the relief efforts. It was pathetic to say the least. According to CNN, First lady Laura Bush has fervently taken up the cause, sharply criticizing the regime for its response to a May cyclone that killed tens of thousands of people and her exact quote was " The more I've seen, the more critical I see the need is ... for the world to pay attention to the people of Burma, and for the world to put pressure on the military regime ". Im impressed by the fact that she has come out so openly about the issue.

But, does she have any moral authority to speak on relief efforts and human rights? How efficient was her husband's relief efforts when hurricane Katrina ripped through louisiana? Hundreds of lives could have been saved if not for the president's pathetic response and relief efoorts. And what about the human rights abuse in all those secret detention camps? Practice before you preach. Anyone?
