Ah. Another day and another edition of "The Hindu" Newspaper. It is one of my favorites in the morning with a cuppa, even though the news coverage is biased. But these days, im content with reading the paper in the evening or before going to bed.
As usual I was reading the paper today when I came across this article titled " Its time to expedite 123 talks". This article speaks about the Nuclear weapons Issue concerning india and the US (no surprise there!!).
It seems the US Govt wants India to
Stop Nuclear Enrichment
Instead, buy reactors and fuel from them,
Let UN weapons Inspectors to inspect the nuclear facilities
Sign the CTBT etc etc.
Ask me and I’d say “To hell with the demands and the American Govt.” These guys think they are too intelligent. Even a farmer in India knows the reason behind these things. They want us to stop nuclear enrichment. Why the hell should we?? We are not governed by them. We do whatever the hell we want. And as long as we don’t scratch them, they have no business to interfere. The Thing is that those guys are afraid that “the third world countries” (??!!) might become more powerful than they are. Oh yea they will. And the Americans are going down. And everyone knows that we WILL NOT use nuclear weapons against anyone unless they are the only means to save ourselves. Nuclear energy is one of the most important source of power in our country and we need it to sustain ourselves. And even if we do manufacture nuclear weapons, these people have no right to question it. When they can have 1000s of nuclear weapons, why cant we?? Let them destroy all those first, then we will think about not manufacturing it.
Buy reactors and fuel from them?? Why?? So that they can control what we do?? So that we are at their mercy? No way. We have the technical know how and the right brains to do it and we will do it ourselves.
Let the UN inspectors inspect the plants?? For what?? Those guys are spies for the Americans and they wanna have a peek into our technology. That’s the only reason. Some of you might be thinking, Americans have all the technology and spies already in place and so why would the inspectors be spies again. Wrong. Their intelligence is so bad that they couldn’t even spot our nuclear test in the first place.
And ofcourse Signing CTBT is out of the question. Let the Americans give up their nuclear weapons then we will sign the CTBT. They think they are smart. But unfortunately they are just like their president. There cannot be jus one country imposing itself on everyone else. Every country must be sovereign. Oh ok. alrite. We’ll make a deal. Let America sign the Kyoto Protocol and we’ll sign the CTBT. Those guys cant commit to reduce pollution in their country and they want everyone else to commit to not testing nukes.
So my Advice to the Undersecretary of state is this. First ask your president to govern your country, stop the wars that were started on some lame excuses and finally concentrate on the upcoming elections. Your job is hanging on a thin line. Set that right before you try to set right the world.
